4Great Fobbit Boots
By The Phos
Hi there! Before buying these Rockies I'd been wearing Danners. I've been very happy with them, and Danner makes a great boot. BUT!

My NCO and my Warrant were raving about how great these boots were, after enough of the guys in our shop bought them, and gave the same great review, I took the plunge too.

These things wear like sneakers, they offer great mobility on a light, low profile boot. When I hold one in my hand it honestly feels like its floating away, its so light. They offer good traction, and full range of motion in my ankle, they also breath pretty well so that my feet don't reek to high heaven when I get off of a 16 hour shift in the TOC. Also, they lace up like a breeze, seriously it takes less than 2 minutes to don both of these boots, and thats in the dark when I'm groggily feeling my way through the process and mostly blind.

That said, there are some downsides, first is lack of Ankle support. Its not really a problem for me, I'm a Fobbit and the worst I contend with every day is the ever present nuisance that is gravel. But I have already had a few close calls in almost twisting my ankle. The soft, pliable sides that I just spent a paragraph praising do almost nothing to stop you rolling your ankle, and if you are in uneven terrain or are a bit of a klutz (like me) there isn't the same kind of support that Danners or other types of boots have. Also, they kind of pinch in the back.

I wore a 10.5 in Danners and they felt fine, I got an 11 in the Rockies and the fit is great.

5Best Boots I have ever worn
By MilitaryMan
These lace up perfectly and they are as comfortable as house slippers. I took these ruck marching and came back without any blisters or even sore feet. I have heard nothing but great things from all of my coworkers that purchased these.

5Good boot, bad laces
By J. Binder
Love these boots. They're about as light as my sneakers. I ordered down a size and they were a little tight at first, but stretched out nicely. I have flat feet and did a 20k road march - not a full bore ruck, mind you - and my feet were in good shape. Just some minor blistering on the bottoms, but no real pain. The sole of the boot it rather soft and walking along large, jagged rocks makes you feel them on your feet, so be careful there.

The laces, though, are 550 cord and are garbage. Within the first week of ownership, the small white strings were pulling out of the encasing. I guess it's just a matter of getting new laces, but that does not detract from a very comfortable boot.
