5Best Boots I've Ever Owned!
By T. Young
I have owned two pairs of Chippewa boots and I am pleased every time. These are so sturdy it feels like they will take a lifetime just to wear in. Forget about wearing these things out, it's impossible. My other pair of Chippewa boots took New York winters and daily abuse. They looked new even after 5 years. I gave them to a friend who does construction as they were steel toe and I wanted something lighter. And I'm just as happy with these. But be careful, the break in time is fairly long. My heels are angry with me right now. I was too excited to wear these and wore them outside in the cold for over an hour, while walking around. Not a good idea. But they were so warm. My feet were sweating and it was about 20 degrees outside. Just take it easy until the leather molds to your feet.

5Excellent Boots
By C. Crawford
I've worn these boots for about two weeks now and I really like them. However they are task specific. Don't get these if you work on gravel a lot. For example: my winter boots are a pair of redwing loggers and I could probably walk over a bed of spikes you often times see those Indian guys lying on in bad movies and not feel anything. You feel medium sized pebbles and rocks with these. However I can't wear lined logger boots when it's 100 degrees outside so I wear these. What they are: very light, think the wieght of a tennis shoe in a boot. Sound good? It did to me. They are extremely soft and comfortable. They won't jam up your toes going down steep grades either. Why buy boots that smash your toes up against hard leather? It's pretty much all about the sole. The rectangle indents give good traction but I have noticed they can be slippery on smooth concrete and newly painted curbs. So great for casual but they are a very light boot if you're looking for work boots. Standing on concrete all day? Awesome for that. Working on gravel over concrete or a hard surface. No good. It's gonna feel like someone hit your foot all day with a small hammer at the end of said day. I recommend buying several pairs of boots for each task. Why try to dump all the tasks on one boot? You can never have enough boots.

4Excellent Fit, Not as tough as I had hoped
By CA
These boots have an excellent fit. Not quite as big in the toe as a Munson last but still generous. The fit alone is the best feature to me. Would seriously suggest getting your true size, and I think people who say otherwise with these boots are probably comparing it to a much more intrusive dress/casual shoe fit that they're used to. I took them to the UK with me I've been wearing them for 6 months with 4-8 miles of walking a day on average. There isn't a whole lot of cushioning, which is a plus for me because I like a minimal flexible sole that allows you to feel the ground and encourages you to walk with good form. They've stood up to water and mud well (it rains a lot here) but the smoother sole slips a bit on slightly icy sidewalks or smooth flooring. I think I'll be getting the lugged version next.

I was disappointed when the cloth lining in both toes started separating from the boot itself. Not really possible or worth it to repair that type of damage so I'm going to try my luck with another pair because this older style of boot with anatomically correct lasting is hard to find. The welting on them is not exactly top-notch, but at this price it's hard to complain. These are rare purist design of boot that secures your heel and allows your toes to wiggle and spread while many boots anymore are designed to squish your feet together together in the cheapest package possible.

Don't forget to oil them well. It's a shame to see full-leather boots worn out of the box and the leather chaffing from lack of care.
