From the Manufacturer
Steve Madden, the company, was founded by Steve Madden, the man, in 1990 in Brooklyn, where he started out making trend-advancing shoes one pair at a time. It was not long after that the Steve Madden focus on "now-ness" earned rave reviews from young female fans mad for the funky, chic, and yet competitively priced footwear it produced. The company popularized the "dressy sneaker," and continues to man the forefront of trends.

By A. Butowicz
I purchased this shoe to be my go-to daily wear boot. It is very challenging to find a wingtip boot in this price range that is not garbage and in a timeless style.
Pro's:
Fantastic styling. The style of this boot is a very classic wingtip brogue design. The lug sole provides great traction. The sole is beveled on the sides to hide the lugs. I have no idea why more high end shoe makers don't do this, as the shoe looks much dressier while still being versatile. The heel appears to be stacked leather, and the contrast stich around the sole looks great. The pictures don't do the finish justice. It is a rich brown that shines and looks way more expensive than the price. I'd give these a 5/5 or more for style, they are beautiful. The insoles are not glued in. They are stuck in with a light, tape like adhesive. I replaced them with a more cushioned insole and it made the shoes a joy to wear, but it isn't required.
Con's: On both my shoes, there was a waste punch left in one of the brogue holes from the tooling process. I had to fillet it out with a razor blade then heat a screwdriver and burnish the hole myself. Very easy, and nobody would have ever noticed but me if I hadn't done it. The laces sent with the boot are HORRIFIC. 0/5 stars. I replaced them with a flat-waxed style boot lace I had spares of from a Banana Republic boot I used to own. It made a night and day difference in the look (see picture above). They come single helix or "shoe shop" laced. I re-laced them with over/under cross lacing off Ian's shoe site (google it) and the look is impressive.
Fitment: These shoes are a little wide. I usually wear a 11.5 E. These came in an 11.5 D and fit perfectly. The boots are very flexible, supportive and comfortable. If you have a very narrow foot, I'd recommend going a half size down or using an insole.
Overall, These are a outstanding pair of boots. The quality is not flawless, but to find flawless quality in a wingtip boot, you'll be spending 350-450$ on Allen Edmonds or the like. For 120 bucks, I don't think you can find a better value in the wingtip boot market right now. Plus, if you get a scuff or nick, you don't want to cry like I do with my AE's. The boots are timeless. Buy these with a new set of flat laces and you are set for years (yes, they are that good).

I wore the Steve Madden Men's Evander2 Lace-up boots today. I am very pleased. I ordered a size 10M and at first fit they felt a little wide. On second fit they seem fine. I wore them all day and while I wouldn't recommend them for someone working on their feet all day, I do a bit of walking and for me they are perfect. The winged tip detailing is great and fine white sole stitching is a remarkable piece of detailing. Overall its a handsome shoe with classic and yet contemporary styling that dresses up or down. The sizing runs a bit on the larger size but not to the point where it is a deal breaker. The only possible improvement might be a better quality insole construction. This certainly would drive the price point up but I would be happy to pay a reasonable difference for what would be a truly stellar pair of boots.
Thanks!
